In 2022 my client Louise came to me looking for a transformation. She had recently gone through some big life changes, she needed to upgrade her health and motivate herself, she was stressed out from work and she felt lazy and lost.

All of this was taking its toll on her relationships with her family and her husband. Her self talk was down the toilet and she knew there had to be more to life than the cycle of work, TV, drinking on the weekend and repeating it all over again.

Before working with me Louise was convinced that all she needed was another shake diet and once she lost the weight she would feel better. Do you notice that when you try to make significant changes in your life, be it stick to healthier habits, improve your relationship, be more proactive, start a business, get control over your finances etc that you start with great gusto but it fizzles out quickly.

Like you keep rebounding to the life you have, and you can’t seem to break out of your own patterns and cycles.

Why it Works 

 

In today's fast-paced world we jump on a hamster wheel in our 20’s, keep striving for the goals we think we want (the body, the house, the husband, the kids, a steady job) only to wake up and realise something is missing.

We then decide changes need to be made, we feel like we have been living week to week with the blinkers on for years.

Our self-talk is negative and berating, our relationship is flat and lacklustre, we feel disconnected from our job, no longer find it exciting and don’t even talk about our sex lives!

This is the all-too-common story for women in their late 30’s early 40’s.

Well guess what? The brain is wired for GROWTH so if you are not growing in your personal development, it will be sending you signals of discontentment.

But unfortunately the brain is also hard wired for SAFETY and doing anything ‘outside of the norm’ will send your nervous system into overdrive to keep you ‘safe’ - Enter self sabotage.

1. Self Discovery.

Instead of playing a game of life that isn't aligned with your desires, your strengths and your uniqueness as a woman (you know where you try to fit in with what your parents or society expects of you) We create a magic blueprint to reach your goals YOUR WAY.

This is your permission slip to do things your way (if you don’t know what that is yet that’s ok) and your permission slip to dream big. Even if the dreams dont feel possible right now, you are dreaming them for a reason, they are meant for you, we need to give them space to breathe.

Why is this so important?

 

When you are on a personal development journey and you are visualising your dreams and goals and working towards them, it can be damaging to get caught up in ‘your future self’ and forget to love and live the life you are in right now.

We need our Nervous System to be regulated and be in a state of constant gratitude and presence for what we are living right now, whilst creating our dream life.

Getting caught in the destination only widens the gap between where you are npw and where you want to be and can leave you feeling hopeless. Many personal development programmes, books and practices can leave you feeling this way.

These are the two mistakes you are making by not practising loving the life you are in as you are changing and growing.

1. When you reach your goals, you will not appreciate them as you wont have built and strengthened the tools to do so.

2. It will be harder to reach your goals as the ‘vibrational energy’ your brain, body and heart are emitting (by not being in a state of gratitude and presence in your life) are not a match for the life you want to create. We are all made up of energy and are creating vibrations according to our emotions and thoughts, this is why you feel a ‘bad vibe’ about certain people, and why when you are feeling ‘good’ things seem to go your way!

3. Rewire the mind.

The next step is to upgrade the way that you are currently thinking and rewire the mind.

Why is this so important? 


This is the process I like to call of quieting the ‘Inner B*tch’ and turning up your ‘Inner Bestie’.
Did you know that our brain and body doesn’t know the difference between a thought in your mind and a real situation that is actually happening. Your body's systems will respond to the thought in the same way that it would respond to an actual event.

Don’t believe me? Try this.

Imagine you have half of a juicy lemon in your hand, feel the weight of it, see the drops of juice squeezing out the top, smell the citrusy smell… can you feel you mouth start to fill with saliva… see your body thinks it’s really happening.

Now let’s apply that to your thoughts, the ‘inner bitch thoughts’ your body and mind think that they are a real person who is following you around telling you ‘your’re not good enough’, ‘you are so fat’, ‘you can’t have those things’.

What would happen to a person if they were followed around by that person all day long? They would start to feel pretty crappy, right?

Would they be able to achieve the things that you wrote down on your desires list?
NO!

Negative thoughts have a huge power over how we feel and perceive life.

They are often based in our belief systems that have been laid down in us since our childhood and take some subconscious work to release them, which is how you can make very powerful shifts and changes in your life.

 

Without going deep into the subconscious work, like I have with my client above. You can start to unravel your belief systems, negative thoughts and stories in some conscious level work, which has a huge impact inquiry.

The first step is recognising the thoughts that go through our head, its a voice external to your own, it is outside of you, therefore we can change it!

Follow my 3 R’s technique as often as you can to start to change the way you think. This will then change the way you feel, and ultimately change the was you act.



Recognise (notice your thoughts and stop them in their tracks.)

Reverse or Reframe (either completely say the opposite, or reframe in a way that empowers you. Ie, I am so bad at this turns into either ‘I frigging rock at this’ or ‘of course I am bad at it now, but through practice I will get better, I cannot wait to get better at this’)

Repeat

4. Release and Upgrade

As you are rewiring your belief systems and discovering where the patterns started and choosing new beliefs it is important to release and forgive all your old patterns, where they came from and anything that has been holding you back up until this point in your life.

Without this step we linger in victim mode and never move past our excuses, problems, old belief systems and patterns. We stay stuck. 


We need to release all of this as we upgrade into the new version of us. The 2.0 you l like to call it. This is a client who has managed to master the three R’s and has been embarking on the release work to really step into her 2.0 version of her.
